Music

Music is more than a hobby for me - it's a passion. I've been playing the piano since I was six, and have listened to songs spanning a wide array of genres. Thus, I have a truly eclectic taste in music.

I am a classicaly trained pianist, and have appeared for music performance exams offered by Trinity College London. My most recent certification was the Associate Diploma for Music Performance after having passed the Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) Piano Recital with distinction. My repetoire for that exam included the works of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. Also, I have taught the piano to children and have prepared them for music theory exams.

I have participated in piano competitions in the Middle East, most notably the 1st United Arab Emirates Chopin Competition for Piano Students, held in Abu Dhabi in 2010, where I received the Grand Prix Award, as well as the Special Prize for Best Chopin Performance. This honour enabled me to represent the United Arab Emirates at the 1st Gulf Chopin Competition for Piano Students in Kuwait City, Kuwait, also held in 2010. Taking part in a competition such as that one was an amazing experience as I was able to meet and listen to numerous piano students from different backgrounds.

Futhermore, I have been fortunate to perform at many music festivals, most notably as a student at the 2009 and 2010 editions of the Dubai International Jazz Festival. Playing on the same day and same venue (though a smaller stage) as some of the biggest names in music like James Blunt and James Morrison was a truly surreal and enjoyable experience.

Though my playlist spans a wide range of genres, my preferences are rock, jazz, and classical music. In addition to the piano, I adore other keyboard instruments like the synthesizer, electric piano, and the Hammond organ - instruments that are the results of precision engineering and true craftsmanship.
